Summer of ’18: Pinkpop!

Once again, it’s been a while since I posted a blog on my website. I’ll try to post some of the highlights more often but if you want to keep track of everything I do, make sure to follow me on Instagram! With that being said… Highlights! As some of you may know, I started playing for Aïcha Cherif about two years ago. After some jams, we decided to record an EP and set some goals. We released the EP Change and had the pleasure and honour of playing shows like Lowlands, Valkhof Festival and Popronde in 2017. To top everything: we had the honour of playing Pinkpop Festival last month. I’ve seen and played a lot of festivals in The Netherlands but Pinkpop is about as good as it gets! A day to remember. We played two unplugged sets in the Garden of Love, so we had to adjust our songs and instruments to that setting. Check out the description of the drumpic for details about my setup. We’re currently preparing for the release of our new EP “Point of no Return”. Meanwhile, check out the first single of that EP: Movie On A... read more

Signing with Zildjian Cymbals & more.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my website and there have been some amazing changes so far! Last summer has been one hell of a ride. I’ve played over 45 (!!) festivals with Jick Munro & The Amazing Laserbeams. Every show has truly been incredible and so much fun. Small highlights of the summer are our shows at Zwarte Cross Festival (check out this video) and Palm Parkies Breda (check out this picture), where we played a headline show in front of 12.000 people. Next to all the Jick Munro craziness, I’ve played on a couple records and projects including Aerographs, Aïcha Cherif and Solomon. You can listen to some songs I’ve played on in the “Audio” section of my website. Last but definitely not least… I’ve signed with Zildjian Cymbals!!! I have been playing Zildjian all my life and to be a part of this amazing family is incredible… I’m so excited about the... read more

Recording with Jick Munro & The Amazing Laserbeams

Time for a small update! For the last few months I’ve been working with Jick Munro & The Amazing Laserbeams. A small, local band who gained a lot of success after winning a contest to play Pinkpop festival last year. With a full schedule for the summer ahead, we started the recordings for the debut record last week. We’re recording at the Amsterdam Recording Company (ARC) with one of my favorite producers, Igor Wouters. We decided to split the sessions in 3 weekends, so there is more time to work on the songs during week days. Some pictures of the first two sessions:    My cool bass drum setup:   Next to working on the Jick Munro record, i’m currently working on the score for a video game that will be available for Xbox, PlayStation and PC next year. More info on that... read more
